Liverpool’s youth player Alexander Arnold is expected to renew his contract.
British media ‘Talk Sports’ reported on the 18th (Korean time) that바카라 ‘Liverpool has begun new contract negotiations with England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.’ Arnold’s existing contract expires in the summer of 2025.
Arnold is a wingback but is a versatile player who can also play as a midfielder. He is a very good kicker and is good at running crosses, early crosses, and even long passes, so he is considered the core of Liverpool’s attack. He also has strengths in dead balls, so he also takes on the role of the team’s set piece kicker.
His true prowess began in the 2018/19 season. He consistently showed good performance, helped the attackers with his unique kicking power, and played very well in the Champions League, winning the Champions League with a total of 1 goal and 16 assists and being selected as the PFA Team of the Year.
While playing in 277 games for Liverpool, he not only won the Champions League, but also won the Premier League in 2020, as well as the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Arnold scored 16 goals and had a whopping 73 assists during that period.
Arnold ranked 22nd in the 2022 Ballon d’Or as Liverpool finished second in the Premier League behind Manchester City, narrowly missing out on a historic quadruple trophy. He looked too unstable defensively in the first half of last season, but as his tactics were revised in the second half, he produced a monstrous performance and proved why he is a world-class defender.
Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool are off to a good start to the 2023/24 season, ranking third, two points behind league leader Manchester City.
Liverpool are hoping Arnold, who was injured in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa, will return for this week’s Europa League match against LASK.
